MIHAI BANCILA

November 7, 2025, L’ATELIER Gifts&More, located at Calea Griviței 33, Bucharest, will host a special event dedicated to contemporary art, featuring Mihai Băncilă, a multidisciplinary artist and graduate of the National University of Arts Bucharest, Department of Ceramics – Glass – Metal.

Băncilă explores a rich and diverse artistic universe, working with glass, painting, graphics, and illustration, and has an impressive record of group exhibitions both in Romania and abroad. He has participated in major events such as European Glass Context (Bornholm, Denmark), Salonul Sticlei, and Artele Focului (Bucharest). His work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2nd Prize for the Arts of Fire (2002) and the Salonul Sticlei Prize (2003), along with later nominations in the same context.

With a solid background and a wide-ranging career, Mihai Băncilă has also worked as a creative director, curator, and illustrator, having designed more than 50 posters for theater productions. His creative energy extends into music as well, as the bass player of the rock band Gray Matters.

The event at L’ATELIER Gifts&More is more than an exhibition – it is an encounter with a multifaceted artist, for whom art is language, experimentation, and reflection. The space becomes the perfect setting to discover works that merge the tradition of the fired arts with a distinctly contemporary vision.
