DAN BANCILA

November 7, 2025, L’ATELIER Gifts&More, located at Calea Griviței 33, Bucharest, will host a special event dedicated to Dan Băncilă (b. 1943, Bucharest, Romania) is a visual artist specializing in glass and metal. He graduated in 1969 from the “Nicolae Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest and is widely recognized for his creations in glass, crystal, and bronze.

Throughout his career, he has exhibited extensively both in Romania and abroad. Notable highlights include his participation at the Tokyo Art Fair in Japan (1987), the International Exhibition “Contemporary Glass and Crystal Sculpture” in Liège, Belgium (1989), the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass in the United States (1979), and the London Decorative Arts Exhibition in the United Kingdom (1981).

His artistic achievements have earned him significant recognition. In 2001, he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in the rank of Commander of the Visual Arts by the President of Romania, and in 2003 he received the Prize of the Union of Visual Artists of Romania.

Băncilă’s works are part of major museum collections around the world, including those in Valencia (Spain), Corning, New York (USA), Rome (Italy), Kassel-Coburg (Germany), Bucharest (Romania), and the Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark.
